Medicare/G.E.H.A. Problems

A.P. Hilado, MD November 17, 1998
Has anyone else had problems with G.E.H.A. (Government Employees Hospital Association)regarding reimbursement requirements for their patients? I've had two patients who have both Medicare and G.E.H.A. My office is "fee for service", and since Medicare does not cover acupuncture, these patients sent their claim directly to G.E.H.A. and not to Medicare. G.E.H.A. reimbursed them for their initial office visits and acupuncture treatments, but now is requiring Medicare EOB'S for provider services before any additional reimburesement to the patient will be made.
