AAMA Webinar Series

The Education Committee, chaired by Dr. Claudia Harsh, has developed a new series of education opportunities through FREE Webinars.

Recently held Live Webinar - Jan 29, 2013:

“Advanced Auricular Therapy: Enhanced Clinical Results”
Bryan L. Frank, MD, FAAMA
“Beyond the simple Phase 1 presentation, Dr. Nogier and his colleagues identified two additional Phases or projections that reflect pathophysiology that is either very dense or degenerative (Phase 2) or intermediate and inflammatory (Phase 3), whereas the initial projection reflects very functional and energetic pathology," Dr. Frank said. "Practice of auricular therapy using all three phases is critical to fully treat pathology that is more dense or histopathological, where the pathology is beyond soft energetic disturbances. Failure to do so will lead to disappointing therapeutic results. Treatment of advanced Phase points, when active, will lead to enhanced clinical response to treatment, rather than treating only the common Phase 1 points of the "inverted fetus" projections.”

Recently held Live Webinar - Jan 28, 2013:

“Acupuncture Related Techniques for Sports and Pain Medicine”
Bryan L. Frank, MD, FAAMA
“Acupuncture Related Techniques often restore tissue regeneration and healing," Dr. Frank said. "By removing the pathological load on tissues, the body can, in turn, arrest many chronic pain and degenerative pathologies. Acupuncture Related Techniques may significantly enhance pain recovery and restoration of function when acupuncture has failed to address the causal events. They are critical therapeutic interventions that warrant serious consideration.”

Previously recorded webinar - Presented on Nov 28, 2012:

“Acupuncture Trauma Protocol (ATP) ”
Mitchell Elkiss, DO
“In this webinar, I will review the diagnostic, pathophysiologic, and therapeutic aspects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD.) In particular, I will discuss the Acupuncture Trauma Protocol (ATP), an Auricular treatment for acute and chronic aspects of PTSD. I will highlight the theoretical basis for this protocol, the methods of identification and stimulation of the points, and will present clinical material. This is a technique that has the potential to simply address the complex neuroanatomical and psychoemotional aspects of trauma spectrum symptomatology.”
