Requests for refunds must be in writing and received at the Academy's office by April 10, 2002. There will be a $50 handling fee assessed for cancellations. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after April 10, 2002.

Hotel Reservations

The 2002 Symposium is being held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand St., Los Angeles, California. This historic hotel ahs been the scene for numerous movies and television shows throughout the years. Previously the site for the Academy Awards Dinner, it has been a favorite of Downtown hotel for Hollywood and political personalities for years. The AAMA discounted group rate is $150 single/$170 double; Club level is $180 single/$199 double. The direct hotel phone number for room reservations is (213) 624-1011. The deadline for reservations at the AAMA rate is March 28, 2002 or until the block is sold out. After that date, reservations and rates will be accepted on a space available basis only. The hotel is expected to sell out. Make your reservations as soon as possible. Mention that you are with the AAMA Symposium to get the special rate.

The Biltmore Hotel is in downtown Los Angeles within easy distance to all of the sites of the greater Los Angeles area. Many can be reached by the Metro rail system which can be taken to Hollywood, Universal Studios and Universal's City Walk and historic Olvara(sp?) Street's dining and shopping area. Metro stations are located within walking distance of the hotel. For those who wish to visit other sites and locations such as the beaches of Santa Monica, Disney Land and Knott's Berry theme parks, the shops of Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, are a short drive away. The Hotel is located just 45 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. Airport shuttles are readily available.

Poster Presentations

The Academy provides a Poster Presentation opportunity for members to present interesting clinical cases or clinical research. Poster Presenters are eligible for discounted registration fees. For information on this opportunity and the requirements for participation, contact the Academy Offices via FAX at 323/937-0959. Ask for the POSTER Presentation Guidelines. Deadline for poster applications is January 31, 2002.

The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture

The purpose of AAMA is to integrate the concepts of traditional and modern forms of acupuncture with western medical practice, thereby creating a more comprehensive approach to health care.
