and alternative medicine is capturing an increasing
portion of the health care market in America -- and more of
the
headlines. Learn how to build your business by positioning yourself
in the growing market of alternative medicine through public
relations.
This
two-hour special session will be led by representatives of Tierney
Strategic Communications, a national full-service marketing
firm based in Philadelphia, offering advertising, public relations,
interactive and direct marketing solutions for clients including
Aventis Environmental Science, IBM, American Water Works, McDonald's
and Verizon Wireless. The Tierney team will provide strategies
for raising your profile in the community and bringing patients
in the door through effective communications.
You'll
learn how to set goals for a communications program within your
overall business plan. You'll also learn how to identify prospective
patients, and how to educate them about the benefits of your
unique approach.
Part
of the session will include media training tips in which presenters
will draw on their experience working with national and local
media. They will introduce strategies for establishing relationships
with editors and reporters, generating interest in a story idea,
and getting your message across in radio, television and newspaper
interviews.
The
session will also cover ways that you can use public educational
programs
and speaking appearances to enhance your profile in the community
and increase public awareness of your unique services.
Finally,
the session will address ways of enhancing your standing within
traditional medicine circles to educate fellow health care practitioners
about your services, thereby increasing patient referrals.
You
