Pan Pacific Acupuncture Conference a hit

“Medical Acupuncture in the 21st Century,” the Pan Pacific Acupuncture Conference—a celebration of the practice of medical acupuncture on both sides of the Pacific Ocean—was held for the first time in the US in October 2000.

Sponsored by AAMA, the event took place in the beautiful Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. By far, this was the most attended Pan Pacific Conference ever—with more than 325 attendees, including 100 visitors from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France and Great Britain.

The conference presented a large number of distinguished speakers from all the participating countries who lectured on many topics using different Acupuncture disciplines that included: Acupuncture Energetic, Japanese Acupuncture, TCM, Auricular Therapy, Auricular Medicine, Electro-Acupuncture and TCM.  The conference also presented topics about the scientific theories of acupuncture and the History of Acupuncture.

Attendees begin each morning at the conference with a rousing session of "Gong with Aung".

The variety of techniques and topics were presented by speakers with vast experience in their specialties, which also allowed those who attended to gain such a wealth of information taking into consideration the different approaches used in different countries. Held Oct. 24–29, the conference was an outstanding success and was rated highly by those who attended—citing the substance of material, the high quality of speakers and the value of information gained in a highly organized conference.

“As a chairman of the Pan Pacific Conference,” said Nader Soliman, MD, “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our

foreign speakers and to our US speakers: Drs. Bryan Frank, Joseph Helms, Allen McDaniels, Stephen Taylor, Charles Shang, William Clearfield and Ravi Ramaswami.”

He added, “I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Executive Administrator Jim Dowden and the AAMA staff whose help and organization was crucial to the success of this conference.”

Speakers and attendees enjoy themselves at the closing dinner reception of the Pan Pacific Acupuncture Conference at Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
