Poster Presentations

Members are invited to submit an abstract to present a Poster Presentation at the AAMA 2020 Symposium, at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, FL, April 23-26, 2020.
 
Please follow all instructions carefully to allow your application to be fully considered. Space and time is limited. Poster Presentations must be submitted in English.
 
POSTER PRESENTATION SUBMISSIONS 

Deadline for submissions: January 31, 2020.

Abstracts should contain the following:
• Title
• Author(s) and affiliation(s)
• Contact information
• Abstract body of no more than 250 words

Acupuncture research of all types is welcomed, including observational studies, surveys and clinical case series. Presentation of educational or quality improvement projects is also encouraged.

For Scientific Posters - clinical and preclinical research abstracts should be structured using the following subheadings:
• Background
• Objectives
• Methods
• Results
• Conclusions

Educational abstracts can utilize alternative subheadings as appropriate. In the event of any questions regarding the suitability or formatting of abstracts, please feel free to approach the Abstract Chair (David Carr, MD PhD, University of Vermont) for an informal pre-submission inquiry (dcarr@uvm.edu).

Submit: An abstract including the above information via email to info@medicalacupuncture.org before January 31, 2020.

If your poster application is accepted, you will be notified by AAMA by February 20, 2020.

Posters will be displayed during the Saturday, April 25th reception. While there is no organized or moderated discussion over posters, you should be available to offer your explanation to interested colleagues during the reception. In order to be eligible to win an award, the poster should be a Scientific poster utilizing the above abstract format for submission. All posters must be presented during the reception.

Poster Presentation Competition – Scientific poster presentations will be considered for a prize competition. Submissions/presentations will be reviewed by selected judges and awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place presentations, with $500, $250 and $100 awarded, respectively. Awards will be announced before the close of the Symposium.

Poster Presentations should be formatted on paper or laminated poster presentations measuring no greater than 48 inches tall and 72 inches wide (landscape formatting) for display. Posters should be ready for mounting on poster boards with pins or tape. Accepted posters must be installed Saturday, April 25th between 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Posters should be removed by Noon on Sunday, April 26th. The Academy is not responsible for posters not removed by the stated time.

Those selected for Poster Presentations are responsible for their own transportation and housing costs and must pay Symposium registration fees in order to participate in the Poster Presentations.

AS PER CME REQUIREMENTS, NO COMMERCIAL ENDORSEMENT OF ANY PRODUCT OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED AND THIS WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUBMISSION. 

Free Paper (Oral) Presentations

The deadline is January 31, 2020 to apply to present a Free (Oral) Paper Presentation at the AAMA 2020 Symposium, at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, FL, April 23-26, 2020.

Please follow all instructions carefully to allow your application to be considered fully. While space and time are limited, we do expect a hearty number of great submissions. Free Paper topics may be clinical or research (basic or clinical) related.  All Free Papers must be submitted in English.

Those selected for Free Paper Oral Presentations are responsible for their own transportation and housing costs and must pay Symposium registration fees in order to participate in the Free Paper Presentation Sessions.

All paper authors and presenters will be listed in the final Symposium program.

Submit: An abstract (summary) of a proposed Free Paper oral presentation via e-mail to info@medicalacupuncture.org  with the e-mail subject line reading: AAMA Free Paper

Abstracts should include:

Time allocation for the Free Oral Papers is 20 minutes. The speaker should present for 15 minutes and allow 5 minutes for questions. The Session Chairperson will announce the 15- and 20-minute times and will stop the presentation at the 20-minute time, even if the presentation is not complete.

A single standard PC computer will be provided for the Free Paper session and all presentations loaded onto this single computer. Only computer and oral presentation is allowed (No overhead projectors, whiteboards or similar aids). Presentations for PC's (Windows configurations) will be accepted, (no MAC, or UNIX). Please prepare and submit your presentation application using PowerPoint. Pictures must be in the following format: jpg, gif, tif, or .bmp (format pict is not allowed as it will not be displayed correctly). Please bring your presentation on a USB flash drive to load onto the computer prior to the session.

AS PER CME REQUIREMENTS, ALL PRESENTERS MUST COMPLETE A COMMERCIAL DISCLOSURE CONFLICT OF INTEREST FORM AS NO COMMERCIAL PRODUCT OR SERVICE OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED AS PART OF THE PRESENTATION AND THIS WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUBMISSION.
